Keeping it up

This week, we are keeping it up.

Hong Kong went dark last week as we saw the highest level of EarthHour participation here since the event was launched by WWF on the Spring Equinox 10 years ago.

More local residents are joining the green living trend.

Seems like the perfect time to begin new routines where we unplug and connect on a regular basis. Nothing is needed more than downtime in the city of life in the fast lane.

The growing natural Hong Kong community has got you covered when it comes to variety and everybody here is interested in making change that is sustainable.

This weekend Red Doors Studio invites you to add a new practice to your new routine at their Chakra Workshop. The spring clean is led by an international team of sound, movement and meditation practitioners. Chakra is Sanskrit for wheel and it is believed we have 7 energy centres in the subtle human body.

When it comes to energy, clean energy is our favorite choice.

Get introduced to sound healing at Art Basel when Martha Collard plays gongs in the foyer of the Ovolo Hotel from 11am-1pm on March 24 and at an art installation — ask her for the details.

Our newest member, Dr Tommy Chan, offers help when you are ready to create healthy habits, providing psychological support for adults, children and families with a non-drug, holistic approach.

If your preference is greening your thumb, get in touch with Jenny or Jasmine at Ark Eden to find out more about their Permaculture Design Course this weekend.

For those of us conserving air miles this long holiday weekend, there are new additions to the HK Farmer’s Markets guide. Planning a day trip? Your starting point is the new local farms section on the website directory. The best way to know your produce is fresh is to hug a farmer. There is some beautiful local produce in season right now.

With the number of people and businesses jumping on the healthy living bandwagon, keeping track of all the options is a bigger job every day. The new guide to HK natural resources is my short cut to sharing natural lifestyle information with less effort.

Seeing the rate change increase and looking back nearly 4 years when we gathered for the last launch, I am motivated to get more contacts in the hands of more people looking for them. Registration is now open for the 2016 edition of Natural Hong Kong — the heartbeat directory. Ask me about advertising or sponsorship opportunities in the popular little brown book.

Spring provides plenty of energy to plant new seeds and plenty of nourishment to ensure their growth.

How do you celebrate the season of renewal?

Naturally,
