Final approval at Public Works Subcommittee meeting in April.
Government proposal for construction of infrastructure at the former Kai Tak airport site includes HK$1.1 billion for roads and the upgrading of the existing taxiway bridge. The detailed designs reveal that 80% of the Kai Tak waterfront will be dominated by roads; there is no opportunity for outdoor dining on the waterfront; 30% of the Kai Tak Approach Channel will not be accessible by vessels. It is not too late to resolve these issues. Contact your Legislative Council member and let them know what you think. Final approval is subject the Public Works Subcommittee meeting in April.
