Vision 2020

We are the other 1%

Every week since 2001, HK heartbeat has been delivering everyday options for natural life in the fast lane to an active network of individuals, businesses and social organizations.

Our members support holistic wellness, real beauty, whole food, eco-chic fashion, civic engagement, cultural heritage, nature conservation, responsible development, creative expression, renewable energy, fair trade, practical innovation, zero waste, circular economics, sustainable living and more …

Three simple objectives:

1. Publish contacts and events and nurture relationships to help anyone find what they’re looking for, even when you’re not sure what you’re looking for.

2. Provide business and communications expertise to professionals and companies while making it easy for people to find natural products and services that can be trusted.

3. Serve social organizations with sponsored campaigns and community connections to attract volunteers and essential resources.

HK heartbeat is an independent, one-woman, natural lifestyle network open to people who care.

Ancient wisdom + modern technology = prosperity in balance

Our members are trailblazers and explorers committed to growth in the expanding natural lifestyle market. Our growing multicultural audience connects online and in person at events in real life.

Crowdfunding 2.0

HK heartbeat is an independent, one-woman, natural lifestyle network open to people who care.

Like many in Hong Kong, I am reaching out for help to keep going so please let me know if you share my vision for a future of prosperity in balance.

Since 2001 when we were largely ignored, I been writing a weekly newsletter to serve our growing network of individuals, businesses and social organizations pursuing natural life in the fast lane … more.

Round one of crowdfunding in June 2019 provide proof of concept.

With everything happening since then, I am more committed than ever to secure a future for HK heartbeat.

Please consider an upgrade to personal or business membership, invest in our social sponsorship program in support of volunteers who give time and other precious resources or make a one-off contribution.

Dear Kinzie, Thank you for your hard work over so many years. Labour of love are wonderful things but they can be under-appreciated. Good for you to remain open and be willing to move on in the way you are. Christine Loh

In October 2020, we will begin year 20 with new services.

I will need everyone’s support to make this happen — especially to prevent another round of eviction proceedings and secure a new lease in the next seven days … details.

Your many kind words of encouragement last June inspired me as much as the cash that allowed me to restore my relationship with my landlord to the point where a new lease was offered last month. The relief was beyond my imagination.

On the advice of friends and members, I have adjusted the campaign to realistically reflect my immediate requirements and also build future stability into the business. As the months went by, it soon became evident that I had underestimated my need, especially with the chunk taken by third party online payment fees. Lesson learned, thank you.

In September, I accepted a project and signed a one year contract offering stability with monthly payments and the prospect of commissions. I got back on track with the landlord who changed their mind and offered to renew my lease when it expired on January 15.

Unfortunately, the work took more time than everyone anticipated and projected commissions didn’t materialize.

While I managed to keep HK heartbeat going, the monthly fee was terminated unexpectedly at the end of 2019 and replaced with project-based proposals to start after the Chinese New Year holiday. These are challenging times for everyone, but this has left me under water once again.

My new fundraising campaign is designed to provide regular monthly income to build a solid foundation.

I plan to achieve this with personal memberships (monthly/annual subscription option) and business memberships (with ad credits and social media campaigns) to continue serving our growing network.

Community membership remains free and everyone is invited to contribute at any time and to sponsor our social members.

In order to save third party payment fees (up to 16%), the crowdfunding campaign continues with direct payment.

Thank you for sharing the journey — we’ve got plenty of people power to harness for good.
