Permission

This week's heartbeat is delivered with a
reminder of the real value of measured time.

[Originally posted on 03 October 03]

I have created a situation for myself where
work and play have no external structures.

This permits me to create from a space of
enjoyment of what I am doing in the moment.

It has taken several years to allow myself
to stray away from the 9-5 m-f work routine.

I needed to give myself permission to play when
I was no longer feeling productive in my work.

I used to feel guilty when I was 'caught' by friends
in Central running errands on a weekday afternoon.

Q "not working today?"
A "well, actually, yes."

For me, time has taken on the role of allowing me
the freedom to connect with others with efficiency.

My mobile phone has allowed me the flexibility of
making my schedule up as I go along where appropriate.

While the external structures are firmly in place around me
I am beginning to experience the joy of my own time creation.

When do you give yourself permission to create your time?
