This week, I aim to be rested and ready for our SoulFood Social and invite you to join us at Linguini Fini on Thursday evening.
I joined the sneezing, sniffling masked masses just as a newsletter arrived from IMI reminding me about the importance of the sunshine vitamin. The mask is not a fashion statement — it is a statement of our disconnection with our natural world. Even after weeks of sunny Hong Kong days, many are suffering. Perhaps it is a reflection of how we well have listened to media reports of the dangers of UVB exposure. We are choosing daily skincare products with added sunscreen when what we need to do is get some bare skin out in the winter sun during peak exposure and get out of the sun before getting burned. Turns out this is the most efficient and natural way of getting our Vitamin D.
A trend worth noting is the growing interest in Gluten-Free Living with events on Gluten-Free Cooking including Gluten-Free Sauces and Dips from Scratch. Also on the calendar this week — Kirtan, Homeopathy for the Home, Intensive Hip Opening, Meditation and The Art of Dying. Show your community support at the Shelter Skelter Music and Arts Festival, listen to the financial community discuss Climate Change and the Fossil Fuel Debate, clean out your closet and support the Clothing Donation Drive at KEE Club or meet the world’s most expensive trees and join the Agarwood Plantation Visit.
