Hong Kong has over 200 islands with hundreds of beaches.
This is the story of Pak Kok. A team of local volunteers cleans this beach every 4-6 weeks …
In 3 small clean ups they gathered 1,112 plastic bottles. On 16 December 2012, the team collected:
– 32 bags of rubbish
– 20 polysyrene containers
– 579 plastic bottles
The brands are counted out of interest and to show us what happens to our waste … and the winners are:

– Bonaqua 55
– Cool – 46
– Hung Fook Tong – 46
– Watsons – 19
– C’est Bon – 17
– Coca Cola – 7
This beach will be covered with rubbish again within 3 days. With government’s new recycling plans, anyone can dispose of waste responsibly.
