Demand

“People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.” Soren Kierkegaard

This week, we are switching sides for a change.

For the past twenty years, we have looked closely at supply.

Our conversations led to solutions to address what’s on offer.

Reflecting on the past 20 years, we see a slow and steady shift.

Economic markets are trending the opposite of real world markets.

And now, we begin to see the pandemic reveal problems with the system.

Just in time and cheap like chips and last minute and next day have caught up.

We are beginning to prepare for new prices that will come with fresh pressures.

Demand is the driver and that puts all of us in the driver’s seat of growth.

We can wish for new toys and trees and treats or we can change habits.

The beginning of the annual consumption extravaganza is upon us.

Our youth are calling out our blah blah blah promises of change.

We can turn to indigenous cultures for their wealth of wisdom.

The value of ethics goes far beyond the new ESG storytelling.

My birthday wish has us headed towards actual sustainable.

Plans will continue with next month’s big anniversary.

The balance of supply with demand can be simple.

It’s time to ask for what we want … for real.
