HK heartbeat -- the natural network

Now is the time to prepare and to share.

When we all get infected together, finding support without distraction or panic can be challenging.

Before racing to be the first to click, take a minute to check reliable sources. We can all do our part to minimize the flood of information in the first global infodemic of its kind. Misinformation is competing with SARS-CoV-2 for top spot in the dueling viral outbreaks of 2022. One is far easier than the other to track and trace and isolate so let's do our best to help curb the spread of both.

What's in your home wellness kit? Share your thoughts by reply.

The home protocols guide is taking shape and I'm balancing service with self care and preparing for the next big little move. A new mini-guide in the works will introduce our members who share tips and favorite things to take the edge off in the coming weeks.

"You are such a beacon of light in these disturbing times. I wish you and the campaign the deserved success!" Ursula

Fundraising for the 50% downsize is ongoing with ad sales and generous donations on track to meet the next target in order to pay the balance of the deposit, sign the new lease and get the keys for the 14 March move in date.

"I would like to share with you as well that there is one community member that needs our support. Please check this funding campaign and consider helping Kinzie. All HK's sustainable, healing, personal development, and so on, space benefited directly or indirectly from Kinzie work in the last 20 years. Thus I am encouraging you to share here camping to your social circles and networks and allow more people in HK to support her." Pawel

The outpouring of support has been a tremendous relief, providing a burst of energy to carry on in trust along with a serious rethink of the amount of unpaid time I am spending to keep Hong Kong's heart beating.

My heart goes out to the families and friends of our beautiful elders who built the world's biggest fishing village with their bare hands and are now leaving behind all those bodies stacking up in refrigerated shipping containers. May they rest in peace and may we keep their memories alive in our lessons for a better tomorrow for everyone.

Stay strong, be well and think kind thoughts.

We've got this.

URGENT FUNDRAISING APPEAL

Running HK heartbeat is my labour of love and I have invested most of my energy and all my resources since 2001 to build our natural network with thousands of social media followers, 800 free subscribers, 1,000 daily website visitors, 2,000+ directory listings and new calendar events each month. You can support with paid membership or make a single contribution towards natural life in the fast lane. I am very resourceful and no amount is too small or too large ... details

ALL HANDS ON DECK -- click here

Here’s a short list of organizations who have identified specific needs and are actively seeking assistance to coordinate crisis support for our rapidly growing vulnerable population facing tough times. Helping others is a good way to relieve stress. HandsOn Hong Kong is keeping up to date with the immediate needs of vulnerable people.  We can all help by donating emergency items to a local charity near you or by volunteering virtually from home. Double vaccinated volunteers are urgently needed by Feeding Hong Kong to pack food boxes for families in need of assistance.  Thank you for helping to spread the word ... read more

HK Pharmacists are taking your calls.

To alleviate crowds at physical shops and serve people isolating at home, HK Pharmacists have set up a free WhatsApp hotline offering advice for prompt treatment of symptoms with online dispensary and delivery services when isolating at home; all messages are assessed for urgency and care is provided on priority basis. Unable to find anything online, I prepared this for sharing. The Association is in touch with the HKSAR government to secure funding and cover the delivery costs (HK$100 average) for those who need help.

Be prepared for time at home.

"I read a useful Chinese article that a colleague sent the other day which mentioned the following 'must have items' for the home." Jen
